The Beauty of Perhaps Eryn Scott 9781544879635 Books

A beautiful, wonderful love story, but also a sort of coming-of-age type of story as well. Molly is determined not to become like her mother, but it's very unlike her to answer a teaching ad for across the ocean in Scotland. There she meets Gates, a man determined not to be like his father. There are sparks between these two right from the start. But will two such totally different people make things work?

The author beautifully described the landscape, the smells, the tastes, the feelings both Molly and Gates were feeling. That doesn't happen very often. Written in the first person, (which is my favourite style of writing) you get to take the trip to Scotland with Molly. I feel like I was there, and now I definitely want to go there.

Only one wee mistake I found was when they were visiting his hometown, and he met some mates at the pub...at first the one guys name was Fred...a few pages later it had changed to Frank. Not a big deal, just an editing over-sight, and doesn't ruin the story at all. Highly recommend this book to anyone. Be prepared to be transported!

The Beauty of Perhaps Eryn Scott 9781544879635 Books Reviews

Loved the story. Characters seemed very real with plausible stories. Our heroine was really trying to find herself and a meaning for her life. Perhaps she reacted to the situation at first, but oh what a journey! Enjoyed the Scottish lingo, the sites and descriptions.
Beautifully written romance set in Scotland. Excellent description made me want to go for a visit. Recommend this story to anyone who loves to read about travel and romance.
Different setting with interesting characters. Plot had enough twists and turns to keep it interesting although it was clear it would be a feel-good book. Speech kept it a learning experience. Some humor.
This book is about personal baggage and running away from issues directly related to difficult parents. I did not find much joy in this book. I have it three stars only because I actually finished it. However, I am stressed out after finishing this book, because it created even more perhaps's in a very disappointing way.
Such a beautiful love story. There is a mention of sex but no real sexual content. The writing about Scotland was fabulous. Makes me want to get out my travel information again since that is on my bucket list. It is truly a wonderful story. Finished it last night but right before I started writing this I read the last two chapters again.
Just finished this awesome story. Molly desperately needed a change. She sees an add for teacher in Scotland and runs with it. She meets Gates, and wow, the chemistry between them is off the chart. This story had me spellbound from the beginning until the very last word. You will not be disappointed.
This is a sweet story with delightful characters full of human flaws who manage to get it right in spite of themselves. Set in ( sigh ) Scotland, it serves as a bit of a travelog and language lesson. All through my 20s, 30s and 40s I had fantasies of meeting my own Scotsman and being spirited away to the auld sod. This sweetheart of a book scratched an itch that I knew would probably never be fulfilled, and for that, I thank you Eryn. I have noticed a distinct uptick romances set in Scotland present and/or past, and have tried a few. I must say that most read like not so good fanfic. This was a pleasant surprise. Give it a try. I'd be surprised if you regretted it.
